Project Hail Mary

This week on the Untitled Sci-Fi Show, we brave the absolute worst cinema etiquette known to humanity, somehow survive an assault by industrial-strength nacho crunching, and still manage to fall completely in love with Project Hail Mary.

After accidentally wandering into the wrong screening, suffering through a family who apparently believed they were watching television in their living room, and questioning whether cinema etiquette is officially dead, we finally get to talk about one of the best sci-fi films we've seen in years.

We dive deep into Project Hail Mary, discussing its incredible adaptation from Andy Weir's novel, Ryan Gosling's brilliant performance, Rocky instantly becoming one of our favourite sci-fi characters ever, and why this might just be one of the finest book-to-film adaptations we've ever watched. We compare the movie to The Martian, chat about the surprisingly believable science, explore everything that made the story work so well, and even uncover some of the fascinating differences between the book and the film.

Expect plenty of laughs, passionate sci-fi nerding, a healthy amount of cinema ranting, and two grown men becoming emotionally attached to a giant alien rock spider. Jazz hands.
